1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of MosaCrypt (the “App”), published by ByteGlo OÜ, Estonia, registry code 17584494 (“ByteGlo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and the MosaCrypt Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Apple terms and license
The App is licensed, not sold. Unless App Store Connect links a separate custom EULA for MosaCrypt, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies and is incorporated into these Terms. If a mandatory Apple term conflicts with these Terms, the mandatory Apple term controls.
3. What MosaCrypt does
MosaCrypt is an on-device utility that encrypts image data using a password-derived key, packages the encrypted payload into lossless PNG pixels, and attempts to reveal valid MosaCrypt images when the correct password is supplied. It can also keep local copies in a Sealed Library and interact with Photos when you grant permission.
4. Your passwords and files
- You are solely responsible for remembering and protecting each password. ByteGlo does not receive it and cannot reset or recover it.
- You are responsible for keeping unmodified, lossless copies of sealed PNG files. Cropping, editing, conversion, corruption, or recompression may permanently prevent reveal.
- You are responsible for backups. Local Sealed Library data may be lost when you delete the App, erase the device, or lose access to it.
- Test your recovery workflow before relying on the App for important material.
5. Photos replacement and deletion
Replace actions can add a new sealed or restored image to Photos and remove the selected item. Review every confirmation carefully. Removed items may remain in Recently Deleted for a period controlled by Apple, while iCloud, device backups, recipients, or other services may keep additional copies. MosaCrypt is not a secure-erasure tool and does not guarantee deletion from every location.
6. Free tier and Premium
The App may provide a limited number of free seal, reveal, or browse-unlock operations. Premium is offered as a one-time In-App Purchase that unlocks the features described in the App at the time of purchase. Apple processes payment, entitlement, Family Sharing eligibility where applicable, and refunds under Apple’s policies. Prices and availability shown by the App Store may vary by country and tax rules.
7. Acceptable use
You may use the App only in compliance with applicable law and the rights of others. You must not use it to access content without authorization, violate privacy or intellectual-property rights, distribute illegal content, interfere with the App or App Store, bypass purchase controls, reverse engineer beyond rights granted by mandatory law, or misrepresent MosaCrypt as guaranteeing anonymity, secure deletion, or legal compliance.
8. Your content and sharing
You retain your rights in your photos and files. You confirm that you have the right to process and share content you use with the App. When you share a file with another person or service, you choose the recipient and accept the destination’s terms. ByteGlo does not control third-party storage, delivery, modification, or disclosure.
9. Intellectual property
MosaCrypt, its software, design, branding, and documentation are owned by ByteGlo or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. These Terms grant only the limited, personal license provided by the applicable Apple EULA; they do not transfer ownership.
10. Availability and changes
We may update, improve, limit, or discontinue features where permitted by law. Compatibility can depend on iOS, Photos, StoreKit, device capabilities, file integrity, and third-party services. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
11. No professional or absolute-security guarantee
MosaCrypt is a general-purpose privacy utility, not legal, compliance, archival, forensic, emergency, or professional security advice. Although it uses standard authenticated encryption, no software, device, password, storage medium, or operational process is absolutely secure. Security also depends on password strength, device security, backups, and how files are shared.
12. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. Mandatory consumer guarantees remain unaffected.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ByteGlo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of data, photos, passwords, access, profits, or business arising from use of or inability to use the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including mandatory consumer rights.
14. Suspension and termination
Your license ends if you materially breach these Terms or the applicable Apple EULA. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. Deleting the App may delete its local Sealed Library and settings but does not delete copies stored in Photos, Files, backups, recipients’ devices, or other services.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections and jurisdiction rights available where you live. Contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. Consumers in the EEA may also have access to local consumer-protection bodies and courts.
16. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms. The date above will change when a revision is published. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
