1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how ByteGlo OÜ (“ByteGlo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the iOS / iPadOS application Hideroll (the “App”), available on the Apple App Store.
This Policy applies only to Hideroll. It does not replace Apple’s policies, the App Store Licensed Application End User License Agreement (or any custom EULA linked for the App), or the privacy policy for our website at byteglo.com.
By using the App, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Who we are (data controller)
- Company: ByteGlo OÜ
- Registry code: 17584494
- Country: Estonia
- Email:
For personal data we process as a controller (for example support emails you send us), ByteGlo OÜ is the controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Your photos, videos, scan results, and App preferences that remain only on your device are processed on your device under your control. We do not operate a cloud account, media database, or remote AI pipeline that receives your library.
3. At a glance (core promises)
- Hideroll is an on-device photo and video library cleanup helper.
- Classification uses a local AI / machine-learning model bundled in the App. Inference runs only on your device.
- We do not upload your photos or videos to ByteGlo servers.
- We do not store your photo library on our systems.
- We do not receive, host, mirror, train on, or otherwise handle your media files on our infrastructure.
- We do not download your iCloud originals for analysis (the App requests only media already available locally on the device).
- There are no user accounts in the App.
- We do not sell personal information.
- The App does not include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs.
- Payments (if you buy Pro) are handled by Apple through StoreKit / In-App Purchase.
4. What the App does (processing purpose)
With your permission, the App may:
- read photos and videos from your device Photos library that are available locally;
- run those items through an on-device classifier to estimate a level score;
- show matches in a “Found Media” list (typically with covers until you choose to preview);
- on your confirmation, move items to the system Hidden album in Photos, or delete items from your Photos library;
- optionally require device authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode) to open the App when App Lock is enabled;
- remember local settings (theme, language, onboarding, App Lock preference, scan threshold-related state, free-tier usage, Pro entitlement cache).
These actions exist so you can review and tidy your own library. ByteGlo does not remotely view, moderate, or receive the content of your media.
5. Information we do not collect
Through the App, ByteGlo does not collect or maintain on our servers:
- copies of your photos, videos, thumbnails, or scan result lists;
- an App user profile, login, or account database;
- payment card numbers;
- precise location for tracking;
- advertising identifiers for ads;
- analytics event streams from third-party analytics SDKs;
- biometric templates (Face ID / Touch ID data — those stay with Apple’s system frameworks on your device).
If this ever changes, we will update this Policy and App Store privacy disclosures before implementing the change.
6. Information processed on your device only
Depending on how you use the App, the following may be processed locally on your iPhone or iPad:
6.1 Photos library (with your permission)
- The App requests Photo Library access (read/write) so it can scan and, if you choose, hide or delete items.
- Image/video pixels used for classification are loaded into memory on your device, scored by the local model, and are not transmitted to ByteGlo.
- The App is configured so Photos network download for analysis is disabled: media that is not available on-device may be skipped.
- Hide and delete operate through Apple’s Photos APIs on your device after you confirm. Delete may be permanent in Photos.
6.2 On-device AI / machine-learning model
- The classifier model is bundled with the App and runs offline on your device (for example via Apple frameworks such as Core ML / Vision).
- No cloud AI. We do not send your media to a remote model API for scoring.
- We do not use your media to train models on our servers — your media never reaches our servers through the App’s scanning features.
- Scores and “flagged” results are computed and kept on your device for your review.
6.3 Local preferences and entitlements
- Settings such as appearance theme, language, onboarding completion, App Lock on/off, last scan timestamp, free preview / scan counters, and a local Pro unlock flag may be stored in on-device storage (for example UserDefaults).
- These preferences are not uploaded to ByteGlo.
6.4 App Lock / biometrics
- If you enable App Lock, the App uses Apple’s LocalAuthentication. Face ID / Touch ID / passcode verification is performed by the operating system.
- ByteGlo does not receive biometric templates or passcode data.
6.5 Purchases (Pro)
- In-App Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit.
- Apple handles payment. We do not receive or store your card details.
- The App may store or refresh a local entitlement state so Pro features unlock. Apple’s privacy practices apply to billing data Apple processes.
7. How information is used (purposes)
On-device data is used only to provide App features to you, including:
- scanning and classifying locally available media;
- showing Found Media for your review;
- performing hide/delete actions you confirm;
- remembering your settings and free/Pro limits;
- optional App Lock.
If you email us for support, we use your email address and message content only to reply and handle that inquiry.
If Apple provides optional crash or diagnostic reports that you chose to share with developers, we use them only to diagnose and improve reliability.
8. Legal bases (EEA / UK)
Where GDPR (or UK GDPR) applies to processing for which ByteGlo is controller, we may rely on one or more of:
- Contract / steps prior to contract — providing the App features you request;
- Consent — where required (for example certain device permissions you grant in iOS);
- Legitimate interests — responding to support email and improving reliability from optional Apple diagnostics, balanced against your rights;
- Legal obligation — where the law requires retention or disclosure.
Device permissions (Photos, Face ID usage prompts) are controlled by you in iOS. You can revoke them in system Settings.
9. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The App does not include third-party advertising networks, tracking SDKs, or external analytics SDKs.
We do not use the App to track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising.
Apple may collect App Store analytics under Apple’s own policies when you use the App Store.
10. Data sharing / disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent personal information from the App.
We may disclose information if required by law.
Service providers: Apple processes App Store distribution, In-App Purchases, and (if you opt in) developer diagnostics. Hosting of this Privacy Policy page is on our website infrastructure; visiting the website is separate from using the App’s on-device scanner.
If you contact us by email, your message is processed to provide support.
11. International transfers
Because the App’s scanning features do not upload your media to ByteGlo, your library is not transferred to us internationally through those features.
If you email us, your message may be processed using email tools that store communications in the EU or other regions depending on the provider. We take steps appropriate to the nature of support correspondence.
12. Retention
- On-device media and preferences remain under your control until you delete them, clear App data, revoke permissions, or uninstall the App (subject to how iOS handles leftovers).
- Support email is kept as long as needed to handle the inquiry, or longer if the law requires.
- Optional Apple diagnostics are retained only as needed to investigate reliability issues.
13. Security
We design the App so media classification does not require sending files to ByteGlo. No method of storage is completely secure. Absolute security cannot be guaranteed. You remain responsible for the physical and account security of your device and Apple ID.
14. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 on our systems. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal data by email, contact us. If we learn we collected such data without required parental consent, we will delete it.
Age ratings and App Store parental controls are governed by Apple’s rules and your device settings.
15. Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area (or where similar laws apply), you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, subject to legal limits. You may withdraw consent where processing was based on consent.
Because media and preferences stay on your device, you control most App data directly by:
- deleting Found Media results or library items in Photos / the App;
- revoking Photos or Face ID related permissions in iOS Settings;
- uninstalling the App;
- managing purchases with Apple.
For purchase, billing, or refund questions, contact Apple Support.
To exercise rights regarding personal data we hold from email you sent us: .
You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Estonia, the Data Protection Inspectorate).
16. App Store privacy labels
Apple requires privacy “nutrition labels” in App Store Connect. Those labels describe data the developer collects. For Hideroll, our intent is that scanning does not collect your library on ByteGlo systems. Labels will reflect this App’s actual practices; if practices change, labels will be updated.
17. Third-party components
The App may include third-party software and a bundled on-device model subject to open-source or other licenses. Those notices appear in the App under Settings → Licenses & Terms. Those licensors do not receive your media from ByteGlo through the App’s scanning features.
18. Changes
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page before they take effect where reasonably possible.
