3. What we collect

We do not maintain a user database, accounts, or mailing lists on this website.

  • Email. If you write to us, we keep your message and email address only to reply and, if needed, to follow up on that inquiry.
  • Hosting logs. This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. The hosting provider may process technical data such as IP addresses in standard server logs to operate and secure the service. We do not use that data to identify you or to track browsing habits.
  • Language preference. If you choose English or Estonian, we store that choice in your browser’s local storage so the site can open in the same language next time. That value is not sent to us as analytics.

4. Legal basis

We process personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries, running a secure website, and remembering your language choice on your device, and to meet legal obligations where they apply.

5. Cookies and tracking

We do not use tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising pixels, or similar third-party trackers. We do not show a cookie consent banner because we do not set tracking cookies.

6. Sharing and processors

We do not sell, trade, or rent personal identification information. We may disclose information if required by law.

GitHub, Inc. hosts this website (GitHub Pages) and may process technical log data as a service provider. Any service provider that processes personal data for us is required to protect that data with safeguards no less protective than those described in this policy, consistent with Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1 and applicable law.

We do not share website visitor data with advertising networks or analytics SDKs, because we do not use them on this site.

7. Retention

Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle the inquiry, or longer if the law requires. Hosting logs are retained by the provider for a limited operational period. Language preference stays on your device until you clear site data.

8. Your rights and deletion

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the GDPR, including access, rectification, and erasure, subject to legal limits. You may also withdraw consent where processing was based on consent, and object to processing based on legitimate interests, where the law allows.

This website has no accounts. To request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold from email you sent us, use the contact control below. We may retain information when we have a legal obligation to do so.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage on the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International transfers

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Technical data may be processed on servers outside Estonia, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred, we rely on the host’s published safeguards and applicable transfer mechanisms.

11. Children’s privacy

This website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us. If we learn we have collected such data without required parental consent, we will delete it.

12. Software and apps we publish

This policy covers this website (byteglo.com). Individual apps may provide a more specific privacy notice. Where they do, that notice applies to the app; this website policy still applies to byteglo.com itself.

  • BackNest: USB Photo Backup (iOS) — see the app’s Privacy Policy. The app processes media on device and does not upload your photos or videos to our servers; details are in that notice.

When we publish additional apps, we will update this section and keep App Store privacy labels consistent with the applicable notices.

13. Links

The site may contain links to websites we do not operate. Their privacy practices are their own. Review those policies before you use those sites.

14. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page before they take effect where reasonably possible.
