1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how ByteGlo OÜ (“ByteGlo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the iOS application Proofacto (the “App”), available on the Apple App Store.
This Policy applies only to Proofacto. It does not replace Apple’s policies, the App Store Licensed Application End User License Agreement (or any custom EULA that applies to the App), or the privacy policy for our website at byteglo.com.
By using the App, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Who we are
ByteGlo OÜ is an Estonian company (registry code 17584494). For personal data we receive directly (for example support email), ByteGlo is the controller.

Where the App processes information only on your device and we never receive it, you control that information through your device. We are not a controller of content that never leaves your iPhone.
3. What Proofacto does
Proofacto is offline-first document-composing software from ByteGlo OÜ. It helps you create job / site documentation packages on your iPhone: photos, notes, optional sketches, optional party signatures, and PDF export.
Software provider only. ByteGlo publishes the App as composing software. We do not verify your jobs, do not offer proof for disputes, and do not participate in disputes between you and clients, insurers, courts, or others about documents you create or share.
Work documents, photos, notes, sketches, signature data, and exported PDFs are stored on your Device. If you enable Apple features (such as iCloud Backup), Apple may include App data in your personal backups under Apple’s terms. ByteGlo does not operate a Proofacto cloud account, does not sync your work documents to ByteGlo servers, and does not receive your photos, PDFs, notes, or signatures for storage or analysis.
4. Data we do not collect through the App
Through the App itself, we do not collect:
- your work documents, photos, notes, sketches, or signature images / names / phone numbers stored in Proofacto;
- exported PDF contents;
- analytics events, advertising identifiers, or crash reports sent to ByteGlo;
- precise location history for advertising or tracking;
- contacts from your address book (Proofacto does not use the Contacts framework).
We do not sell personal data. The App does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs.
5. Information processed on your Device (not sent to us)
Depending on how you use Proofacto, the App may process on your Device:
- Work documents — titles, client / site labels, dates, status, notes, and related metadata you enter;
- Photos and images — captured with the camera or selected from your photo library, including captions and timestamps you set;
- Sketches / annotations — drawings you create in the App;
- Signature identity — first name, last name, and optional phone number you choose to store for signing, plus drawn signature strokes;
- PDF exports — files generated on device for sharing or saving;
- Templates and preferences — custom PDF templates, appearance choices, free-export counters, and similar settings;
- Optional iCloud Backup preference — a local setting indicating whether you want Apple’s iCloud Backup to include App data (actual backup is performed by Apple, not by ByteGlo).
This information stays under your control on the Device unless you export, share, print, or back it up through Apple or other tools you choose.
6. Permissions
Proofacto may request:
- Camera — to capture photos for a work document;
- Photo Library — to attach existing photos to a work document.
You can deny or revoke these permissions in iOS Settings. Without Camera or Photos access, related features will not work until you allow them.
7. Sharing, export, and backups you initiate
When you export or share a PDF (or other files) via the system share sheet, AirDrop, Files, email, messaging, printing, or similar, the content leaves the App according to the destination you choose. Those third parties process data under their own terms. ByteGlo does not receive that share unless you deliberately send it to us (for example by emailing support).
If you enable device or iCloud backups, Apple may include App data in your backup under Apple’s privacy policy and your Apple ID settings. ByteGlo does not operate those backups.
8. Purchases (StoreKit / App Store)
Optional Proofacto Premium features may be offered via Apple In-App Purchase. Payment is processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide ByteGlo with limited purchase / entitlement information (for example, that a product was purchased or restored) as needed to unlock features, under Apple’s terms.
Purchase management and refunds are handled through your Apple ID / App Store account and Apple’s policies.
9. Network use
Proofacto is designed to work offline for creating documents and exporting PDFs. Network access may be used only for limited purposes such as:
- communicating with Apple for In-App Purchase / StoreKit validation and restore;
- opening links you tap (privacy policy, terms, or support) in Safari or another browser;
- optional system features you enable (such as iCloud Backup) that are provided by Apple.
We do not upload your work documents or media to ByteGlo servers.
10. When we may receive personal data directly
If you contact us by email or another channel you choose, we process the content of your message and your contact details to respond. We keep correspondence only as long as needed for support, legal, or legitimate business records, then delete or archive it according to our retention practices.
Do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive personal data in support emails. If you attach a PDF or screenshots for troubleshooting, we will use them only to help you and delete them when no longer needed.
11. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the App. If you believe a child has provided us personal data via email, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
We design the App so sensitive work content stays on your Device. Local files may use iOS Data Protection / encryption at rest as provided by the operating system when the Device is locked. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. You are responsible for controlling who can unlock your Device, who you share PDFs with, and whether backups are enabled.
13. Important notice about documents and PDFs
Proofacto is document-composing software from ByteGlo OÜ. It helps you organize photos and notes into PDF packages on your Device. ByteGlo is the software provider only: we do not provide legal advice, notarization, certified surveying, chain-of-custody guarantees, or court-admissible evidence by ourselves; we do not offer proof for disputes; and we do not participate in disputes about PDFs you create or share. Hashes, timestamps, signatures, and layout features are convenience tools. You remain responsible for how you use and present exported documents.
14. Your privacy rights
EEA / UK (and similar laws). Subject to legal limits, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Estonia: Andmekaitse Inspektsioon). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent.
Because most Proofacto data stays on your Device, you can usually control it directly: editing or deleting documents, revoking iOS permissions, removing exports you created, or uninstalling the App.

California / “sale” of personal information. We do not sell personal information in the CCPA/CPRA sense, and we do not share App document data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

15. International users
The App may be used outside Estonia. ByteGlo is established in Estonia (EU). If you contact us, your message may be processed in the EU. Apple may process purchase-related technical data in other countries under Apple’s terms.
16. Links and other services
The App or this page may link to third-party sites or services we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own. This Policy does not cover them.
17. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the App after an update means you have reviewed the revised Policy, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
If our data practices change in a way that requires App Store privacy labels to be updated, we will update those disclosures as required by Apple.
